Your Equine Future: Careers, Innovation and Pathways

We are proud to release the first of six Young Equine Innovators Open Educational Resources.

Module 1 is the foundation module. It helps young people explore the equine sector, understand how careers really develop, and begin designing a pathway that fits their values, strengths, and ambitions.

The equine industry is changing. Welfare standards are rising. Sustainability matters more than ever. Digital technology is transforming yards, events and performance. At the same time, new employment and enterprise models are opening doors for young people across Europe.

This module helps learners make sense of these changes and turn interest in horses into clear next steps.

Young People (16–30)

You might:

• Love working with horses
• Be exploring self-employment or entrepreneurship
• Be unsure which direction to take
• Be living in a rural, remote or urban area
• Want to bring new ideas into a traditional sector

You do not need a business background. You only need curiosity and motivation.

Educators, Mentors and Youth Workers

You might:

• Support young people in equine settings
• Teach entrepreneurship or vocational training
• Deliver informal youth programmes
• Want practical, ready-to-use materials
